Overall, I just can’t stand it when homeschool moms get criticized – forcing them to struggle with the “right” way to homeschool. It’s total garbage.

That’s why I’m passionate about helping you homeschool.

One common homeschool struggle is connecting with the kids and making memories.

And who can blame you with everything that goes into running a school, regular mom stuff like laundry and cooking, and let’s not mention time for yourself (Do you even get any???)

It’s no wonder you’re overwhelmed, discouraged, and annoyed every time the kids call “MOM!”

An easy solution…

What you need are easy ways to add opportunities for connecting and memory-making into your homeschool and don’t add to your mom load. Because let’s get real planning for every fun activity can suck the joy right out…

Which is why I wanted to tell you a little more about Mrs. Crabtree’s Favorites!

First, let me share a little about the BEST, most memory filled year of my homeschool.

When do we feel most loved? When are we happiest?

Some of the happiest times in our lives are those we spend together with our families celebrating birthdays, holidays, and other fun events. It’s no secret I love holidays. They are simply the easiest way I know to MAKE MEMORIES.

As homeschoolers, my family and I spent one entire year using a curriculum that was entirely based on the holiday of the day. It was hands down a highlight of our homeschool journey.

Golfer’s Day 2010

Using a holiday curriculum focuses on love and connections first and the academics just follow.

Happy Hive Homeschooling recognizes the deep love you have for those in your home, yourself included. Our products are designed to foster that love and your commitment to a quality education built on strong relationships, accurate academic resources, and enriching experiences. There is no need to abandon the curriculum you are already using, what we design fits easily into what you’re already doing!

You can use one holiday a month, once a week or you can use the holiday of the day daily!

I get it that I go overboard with my “every day is a holiday” song and dance routine – but if you celebrated even 1 or 2 holidays a month, think of the memories you would make.

To make extra sure you can easily celebrate holidays in your homeschool I put together this bundle of resources I call: Mrs. Crabtree’s Favorites so you don’t get tripped up on lesson planning, prep and everything else.

Create memories that are BIGGER and BETTER than you’ve experienced in the past

Don’t limit celebrating in your homeschools to Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. I’m not suggesting having a party every day for school, but instead, building upon the memory-making and the joy that holidays and “events” bring naturally.

  • Decorate a Holiday Tree every month.
  • Send homemade cards to friends and family every month.
  • Make a special meal for the holiday
  • Share facts about the history of the holiday

If holidays are just not your thing, do this with artists, authors, or other famous figures. You can create similar memorable events each month based on “This day in science/history”.

Your homeschool years GO FAST, it’s not always about math, science, reading, and writing.

Plan an epic year your kids will never forget.

P.S. What holiday or themed event have you celebrated in your homeschool this year? I’d Love to know !
