The name October comes from octo, the Latin word for “eight.” In the ancient Roman calendar, October was the name of the eighth month of the year. In weather lore, it is said that if October brings heavy frosts and winds, January and February will be mild.
We hope for mild weather so we can celebrate holiday favorites such as: Mad Hatter Day, Statue of Liberty Dedication Day, and Halloween!
Take a look at the fun holidays in October designed to help you make memories and build relationships. We hope you’ll learn something new as well!
