Scavenger Hunt Day explores an old-fashioned party game. They credit the Scavenger Hunt as we know it today to an event planner of sorts throughout the 1920s. The wealthy paid Elsa Maxwell to plan elaborate treasure hunt parties.

A scavenger hunt today comprises a list of random items to find. The experts at Happy Hive Homeschooling have put together 25 different scavenger hunts for you so you can celebrate not only today but all year long!

You can celebrate SCAVENGER HUNT DAY by:

1. Hide small prizes around the house or yard and create a map with clues to help the children find them.

 2. Create a nature scavenger hunt for your yard or park that requires children to collect items to complete the activity.

3. Play a game of “I Spy” with the children and have them search for objects in the area.

4. Create a scavenger hunt list of tasks the children must complete such as drawing a picture or making a craft.

5. Hide letters around the house or yard and have the children look for them to spell out a secret message.

6. Have the children search for items in the pantry or refrigerator and make a snack or treat.

7. Play a game of hide and seek with the children and have them hide items around the house or yard.

8. Use these Reading Scavenger Hunts
