NATIONAL LAW ENFORCEMENT DAY

When the term Law Enforcement is used – it’s easy to think: Police officer – and you are not wrong. The larger, all-encompassing definition of law enforcement includes not only police but those who work in the courts and department of corrections. National Law Enforcement day honors each of these valuable members of our communities.

Each individual helping to enforce the laws by finding, discouraging, punishing, or rehabilitating people who break the rules are considered a member of law enforcement and today is a day to appreciate the jobs they do.

You can celebrate National Law Enforcement Day by:

• Bringing cards and treats to your local law enforcement department
• Learning about the jobs individuals in law enforcement do- visit the library for books and ask friends and family who work in law enforcement to share what they do.
• Take time EVERY TIME you see someone in law enforcement to say “Thank You”
