Blooms of Creativity: Celebrating Floral Design Day
Floriography is the language of flowers. The flowers themselves do not talk, but how they are arranged, and their colors send messages. In fact, In Victorian Times, flower arrangements could be sent as coded messages to express feelings that were not acceptable to express in person.
One of the most familiar books about Floriography is called THE LANGUAGE OF FLOWERS and it is still published today.
This and similar publications explain for example that red roses signify deep love, whereas pink roses can be used where there is just a small affection. Yellow roses are said to stand for friendship.
Floral Design Day honors Carl Rittner, the founder of Rittner School of Floral Design in Boston. This delightful occasion invites us to explore the artistry of arranging flowers, expressing creativity through blooms, and embracing the joy that a well-crafted bouquet can bring.
In this blog post, we’ll embark on a journey into the world of floral design, share the significance of the day, and present enchanting ways for kids to celebrate Floral Design Day.
Floral Design
Floral design is the art and skill of creating arrangements with flowers and other plant materials. From classic bouquets to elaborate centerpieces, floral design allows individuals to express emotions, celebrate occasions, and bring a touch of nature’s beauty indoors.
Floral Design Day encourages everyone to appreciate the work of floral designers and try their hand at creating their own beautiful arrangements. Whether it’s a simple bunch of wildflowers or an intricately crafted centerpiece, the possibilities are as diverse as the flowers themselves.
