Presidents on Paper Money

I’m sure you know the Presidents on paper money, but do you know the history behind why each President (or another historical figure) was chosen?

US Paper Money Day is celebrated on March 10th, giving you the perfect opportunity to explore presidents on paper money with your kids!

You can also use this to celebrate President’s Day in February!

In this fun resource from Happy Hive Homeschooling you get:

  • A link to the slide presentation that you can use to guide your kids through the lesson
  • The Teaching Video is narrated by “Rachel Rich”. Rachel guides your kids through the slide presentation using humor and a bit of extra knowledge.

The slide presentation and video contain the same basic information: a fun history of US Money, they are not all-encompassing. There are simple, fun, and interesting facts for each bill.

You also get:

  • Companion worksheet for note-taking as your kids follow along.

Creative money-related activities the PDF packet you can use as follow up or stand-alone activities:

  • Design your own currency with a president/leader of your choice
  • YOU on the $1.00 bill &
  • an essay prompt for older students, or just for discussion! (this is in the slide presentation and video)

I’m sure this resource will inspire additional learning about US history. Perhaps your kids would like to explore:
