A homeschool is lovingly filled with children at many levels. Perhaps you have a few pre-writers not yet ready for letter formation, but working on their pencil grip. Worksheets for tracing lines are an excellent fine motor activity for your pre-writers as well as those just emerging as writers. These fun worksheets contain many tracing patterns as well as clip art you children will love to color.
You may be celebrating National Handwriting Day, January 23rd or simply looking for line tracing worksheets.
This time-saving set of 34 pages of worksheets for tracing lines contains what are known as pencil control lines.
The same pattern is repeated 4 times, with a picture for coloring at the end of each line. The tracing alternates from right to left, then left to right. The directions ask learners to use a different color each time they trace.
You also get 5 pages of pencil control practice in which the patterns are different each line. These are “Review” pages. The tracing alternates from right to left, then left to right. The directions ask learners to use a different color each time they trace. There are no pictures to color on these pages.
TIPS FOR USE:
These pages are designed to be used with parent supervision. Please be sure your little one is sitting properly, gripping their pencil properly, and not straining to see the worksheets or tracing lines.
Tracing can be helpful to some (but not all) learners as a pre- handwriting skill. Be sure your learners are ready, and enjoying the activity, and not frustrated by it.
