Description
Christmas is a MAGICAL time of year. Add to the magic with this Cookie Painting recipe! Cookie Painting is an activity that is sure to be a HIT with all the kids in the neighborhood. This Cookie Painting Recipe is easy and you can even host a cookie painting party!
Using this recipe for Sugar Ornamental Cookies passed down from my mother, you can even hang these cookies on your Christmas Tree as ornaments. They do harden, but trust my Mrs. Clause-looking figure, taste delicious even after hanging on the tree awhile!
If you are not familiar with having a cookie tree (and quite frankly, I have never met anyone else who had one) You should DEFINITELY check out the history behind this beloved Family Tradition in my post, THE EDIBLE CHRISTMAS TREE.
It is an honor for me to share this Cookie Painting Recipe and the tradition that I deeply believe my Mom created in the late 1960s with your family. I hope to honor her legacy of being the original inspiration for holiday celebrating in my life. She certainly had a way of making all holidays special in our home!
Over the years I have purchased many plastic cookie cutters and we have used cookie painting as an activity for other holidays as well, not just Christmas. Cookie Painting is a great activity for birthdays, Valentine’s Day, Easter, Halloween, and Christmas.
We use sugar cookie painting as part of our HOMESCHOOLING THROUGH THE HOLIDAYS beginning in October. I hope you enjoy this new tradition in your Happy Hive this year!
