SAVE THE EAGLES DAY

Save the Eagles Day began in 2015 by the community of Ridgefield park NJ and their local Audubon Society to protect the nesting eagles named Alice and Al, who had nested along Overpeck Creek since 2011.

The day raises awareness about eagles and highlights and appreciates conservation efforts that work to prevent their extinction. 

There are more than 60 different species of eagles in the world.

 The bald eagle and the golden eagle are the only two species of eagle found in the U.S.

You can celebrate Save the Eagles day by:

• Learning more about the different species of Eagles native to your area

• Watching Eagle Cams  and donating to local conservation efforts

• In 1787 the Bald Eagle was made the national emblem of the United States. Use the Happy Hive Homeschooling Paper Plate Craft to create your own Bald Eagle.
