Did you know that Tea is the second most consumed beverage in the world? (Not in MY world 😂 – but the world)

Here are some things you may not know about Tea:

• The most expensive tea in the world is called Pu-erh tea, and it can cost up to $1,000 per pound.
• The English language word “tea” comes from the Chinese word “t’e”.
• Tea was discovered in China around 2737 BC by Emperor Shen Nung.
• There are over 1,500 varieties of tea, including green, black, white and oolong.
• Tea is the national drink of the United Kingdom, Ireland, and Malaysia.
• Tea is naturally low in calories and can help speed up your metabolism.
• In some cultures, tea is used as a medicine to treat various ailments.
• Tea can help reduce stress and improve mental alertness.
• Tea contains antioxidants that can help prevent cancer and heart disease.

National Tea Day was created by The Tea Council of the U.S.A in 2016. It is a day to honor the role of tea in the world’s history, and to recognize the positive impact it has had on global health.
