Please see our full disclosure for further information.\n\n\n\n\n\n\nHome ( https://happyhivehomeschooling.com/ )\n\n\nNational Nurses Day is celebrated annually on May 6th. We honor the contributions and dedication of nurses to the health and well-being of individuals and communities around the world. This day is part of National Nurses Week, which takes place from May 6th to May 12th (Florence Nightingale’s birthday). It provides an opportunity to recognize the important role of nurses in healthcare.\n\n\n\nNational Nurses Week began in 1974 and May 6th was dedicated as National Nurses day in 1982. Each year the National Nurses Association chooses a theme for the week.\n\n\n\nNurses are an essential part of the healthcare system, providing care and comfort to patients in hospitals, clinics, and other healthcare settings. They are the front-line workers who provide medical attention, emotional support, and education to patients and their families. Nurses work tirelessly to improve the health outcomes of their patients, and their contributions to healthcare are invaluable.\n\n\n\nNurses make up the highest percentage of the healthcare workforce in the US. National Nurses Day is a great opportunity to show appreciation for the nurses in your life. \n\n\n\nReturn to main calendar HERE\n\n\n\nFun and meaningful ways that kids can honor nurses on National Nurses Day:\n\n\n\n\nCreate homemade thank-you cards: Kids can show their gratitude for nurses by making a heartfelt thank-you card. They can draw pictures, write messages, or decorate the card with stickers and glitter.\n\n\n\nSend flowers or a small gift: A thoughtful gesture like sending flowers or a small gift can brighten a nurse’s day and show them how much they are appreciated. Kids can help choose the flowers or gift and write a note to accompany it.\n\n\n\nWrite a poem or story: Kids can use their creativity to write a poem or story about a nurse who has made a difference in their life or in the lives of others.\n\n\n\nDonate to a healthcare charity: Donating to a healthcare charity that supports nurses is a great way to show appreciation for their hard work and dedication. Kids can help choose the charity and contribute a small amount of their own money.\n\n\n\nSay thank you in person: If possible, kids can visit a nurse in person and say thank you for their hard work and dedication. They can express their gratitude with a smile, a kind word, or a small gift.\n\n\n\n\nReturn to main calendar HERE\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCan’t celebrate this year – Mark your calendar & save this holiday for next year!\n\n\n\nYou can also pin the image below to your Pinterest boards to save this fantastic holiday!\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nReturn to main calendar HERE\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWant Ideas for celebrating in your inbox every day?
