We celebrate this special day to embrace multilingualism, cultural diversity and to promote equal use of all six official languages. \n\n\n\nThe General Assembly approved the Arabic Language as one of the official languages of the United Nations on December 18th. This is how December 18th became the day we celebrate as Arabic Language Day. \n\n\n\nMore than 400 million people speak Arabic daily.
